Armed Forces Day
So I have been working with the Historic Dockyard and the NMRN (national museum of the royal navy) for a little while now on various projects and it’s such and inspiring place to be.
I was asked if I’d like to get involved with a Military Fashion Parade that they are organising as part of their Armed Forces Day events. The parade will highlight how military fashion has inspired high-street fashion through the years, from aviators to the humble T-shirts,from Duffle coats to nautical stripes!
I have been asked to provide the ‘pin up’ element… A pin up girl was traditional plastered along the sides of planes and a incredibly beautiful local Pin Up model has kindly offered to model for me…
Ally Holiday is a Pinup model, cosplayer and proud UK Bombshell and I’m so excited to see her in my lingerie/work with her.
I’m planning on using some garments from my new collection and possibly designing something new too (if I get time… there never seems to be enough hours in the day)
I will also be showing a garment from my graduate collection… a dress inspired by 1940’s lingerie and traditional naval tattoos…
It should be a really fun event and I’m sure Ally will steal the show in whatever we decide to put her in…
She’s coming round in a minute and we’re going to try on some pieces and come up with a plan….
Getting the chance to work with other creative and inspirational people is one of the things I really love about my career!
I am also having a stall at the event so come down and say hi and pick up a print too whilst you’re at it!
